Land Demolition

Land Demolition Contractor Near Me in Northern Ohio

Land demolition is taking a structure off a lot: an old farmhouse, a collapsing barn, a shed, a garage, or an outbuilding that has outlived its use. We knock it down, separate what can be hauled from what needs to be recycled or landfilled, and leave the pad backfilled and graded rather than a hole with a debris pile next to it.

What It Is

The work, plainly described

Land demolition is taking a structure off a lot: an old farmhouse, a collapsing barn, a shed, a garage, or an outbuilding that has outlived its use. We knock it down, separate what can be hauled from what needs to be recycled or landfilled, and leave the pad backfilled and graded rather than a hole with a debris pile next to it.

This is not blasting and it is not a licensed abatement job. We handle the mechanical take-down, debris separation, and hauling. Permits, utility disconnects (electric, gas, water, septic), and any asbestos or hazardous-material survey a structure of that age requires are confirmed before we mobilize, and we will tell you plainly what your township needs and who has to sign off on it before the first swing.

Most jobs come off a small footprint compared to a land-clearing job, but they run through more hands: the utility companies, the township, and sometimes a hauler for material we do not landfill ourselves. We plan the sequence around that up front so the actual demolition day is fast.

Who It's For

Who calls us for this

Residential

Homeowners clearing a dilapidated barn, shed, or old farmhouse off a property before a new build, a sale, or just to stop paying to maintain a structure nobody uses.

Commercial

Developers and site supers who need a structure off a parcel before site work starts, on a schedule that holds against the rest of the plan set.

What's Involved

How the job actually runs

  1. Walk the structure and plan the sequence

We confirm what is coming down, what permits and utility disconnects your township requires, and whether the structure needs a hazardous-material survey before a machine touches it. That paperwork sits with the property owner; we will tell you exactly what it involves.

  2. Knock the structure down

The backhoe pulls the structure apart section by section rather than pushing it over in one motion, which keeps debris in a pile we can actually sort instead of scattered across the lot.

  3. Separate and haul debris

The skid steer sorts material as it comes down. Wood and brush run through the chipper where that makes sense; masonry, metal, and everything else gets staged for hauling or recycling.

  4. Backfill and grade the pad

Foundation holes and basements get backfilled and compacted, and the lot is rough-graded so it is ready for the next trade, a for-sale sign, or a season of sitting open without becoming a drainage problem.
