Site Grading & Leveling

Site Grading Contractor Near Me in Northern Ohio

Site grading is the work of moving earth until the ground sits at the elevations and slopes it needs to sit at. That might mean cutting a building pad to plan grade within a tight tolerance, or it might mean regrading a backyard so water stops running toward the foundation every spring.

What It Is

The work, plainly described

Site grading is the work of moving earth until the ground sits at the elevations and slopes it needs to sit at. That might mean cutting a building pad to plan grade within a tight tolerance, or it might mean regrading a backyard so water stops running toward the foundation every spring.

As a GPS grading contractor, we run a navigation dozer with grade control, which means elevations come off your plan set rather than off an operator reading a string line. On a commercial pad that is the difference between passing inspection the first time and moving dirt twice. On a residential lot it is the difference between drainage that works and drainage that almost works.

The first thing we work out on any grading estimate is whether the site balances. If your cut and fill match, grading is machine time and nothing else. If you need hundreds of yards of material trucked in, the import can cost more than the grading itself, and you deserve to know that before you sign anything.

Who It's For

Who calls us for this

Residential

Property owners with standing water, a yard pitched toward the house, settled fill, or a new build that needs its lot brought to grade before landscaping.

Commercial

General contractors and developers who need pads, parking areas, and access drives cut to plan elevation with documented compaction and a schedule that does not slip.

What's Involved

How the job actually runs

  1. Establish the target elevations

We work from your plan set and survey where one exists. Where it does not, we shoot the existing grades and design a surface that drains where you want water to go.

  2. Strip and stockpile topsoil

Usable topsoil comes off first and goes into a stockpile for reuse at final grade rather than being buried under fill or hauled away.

  3. Cut and fill to grade

The GPS dozer moves material to design elevation, and fill goes in compacted lifts rather than one deep push, because uncompacted fill settles and settled fill cracks whatever sits on it.

  4. Verify and hand over

We check grades against target before demobilizing, and we walk the finished surface with you so nothing gets discovered after the machines have left.
